I flung open the closet and there on top of the detergent powder was a big hairy spider! The devil was just a few inches away from face and it was the biggest spider I’ve ever seen in my whole life existence.

I froze from where I was standing, wide eyes, praying it won’t move, or jump. So what would you have done in this situation?

Yeah, right, I was about to close the closet, but, it was too late that haiiiirrryy big thing just jump off to my face.

Next thing I knew was it was on my face, its 6 or 9 freak’n legs wide spread on my whole face, had a heart attack, died, was resurrected, and then and then ran around in circles from where I was standing, screeaaamming and hitting my face involuntarily like a lunatic.

I can feel its freak’n legs moving around my head….my face….and then I realized my mouth was wide open because of my screams, I imagined what if it goes inside my mouth while I am in the peak of my screams?! I felt my spirit went outside my body, and my body was just doing its own involuntary movements…shutting my mouth but still screaming and couldn’t stop it:

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM–MMMMM—-MMMMM—MMMMMMMMMMMMM—MMMMMM—MMMMMMMMMMMMMM—MMMMMMMMMMM—MMMMMMMM—MMMMMMMMMMMMMM—MMMMMMMMMMM

I almost chopped my head off to get the spider off my head. But, I guess it was also very fragile in spite of its EXTRA LARGE size.

When I felt that there were no movements of those hairy legs around my face and the only thing that I was feeling were my goose bumps. I stopped hitting myself. It seems all of my hair in my body including my pubic hair were standing because of fright and disgust. I saw the Big Mac size spider now on the floor, all legs flexed.

I was dizzy for a moment, but was relieved Big Mac spidey was dead already. Sorry for those who are spider lovers. I love Spiderman really, but this big mac family member of Mr. Spiderman triggers my manic-phobic killer instinct.

After doing the laundry, I went to the supermarket and bought some lemons, Pledge spray Lemon scent, and Baygon Mosquito/spider pesticide spray.

I searched the internet and I found some few articles on how to get rid of home spiders. According to them, spiders hate lemon scents, especially the Pledge spray lemon scent (yes the one we use for our wood furniture to make their surface very shiny.)

Next time I will go to ACE hardware, I would ask for those gadget that creates low frequency noise/sound waves that would drive away mosquitoes and other crawling pests, including the family members of Mr. Big Mac Spidey.

Rainy season is almost here. Better get a lot of sunshine to drive away gloomy weather blues.

Yehey! I am posting again. Hehehe It’s not that I already have enough time; Naaahhh,  it’s just that I am supposed to sleep early, but I just can’t sleep right now. I need to wake up around four thirty tomorrow morning. Hence, my sleeping pill would be a blog post. Hehehe I am done updating with my client’s blogs, so I will have to shower mine some love tonight.

Part of my plan in this blog is to post some camera settings under my photography tips’ category. I think this is an opportunity to post something under that category. A friend of mine in Facebook asked me on my camera setting on this firework’ shot of mine, which I took last year, although, I already shared my settings to him, I was thinking of posting it here, too.

For me, capturing fireworks takes a lot of good timing and luck. The trick here is in your camera settings and capturing the light would make your shutter speed plays an important role. If you want to capture lights that are moving, shutter speed will do the magic. If you want a nice effect of the light, you need to keep in mind that the slower your shutter speed, the better.

My camera setting in here is on Manual mode at 19mm ISO 200 with a shutter speed of 19 seconds and an aperture of f/16 flash off. You also need a tripod, and if you have a camera remote control to release your shutter, much better. However, if you do not have a camera remote control, you need to be very careful in pushing your shutter when capturing the fireworks to avoid even the slightest shake from your cam. Otherwise, you would not be able get this kind of sharpness in your photo.  A camera shake is the least thing you want to get in this kind of set up.

The rule in capturing moving lights in a dark place is everything that is moving and does not have lights will not be captured; lights and moving lights at a slower shutter speed are the only objects that would be visible in your photo. This is also the same rule that is used in photos where they write or draw something using lights.

If you have a Digital SLR, you may want to try this set up. It’s enjoyable. If you want to capture the fireworks’ explosion, you need to have a good timing. I would suggest to release your shutter while the firework goes up, hence, when its shell explodes, your camera is on the perfect timing of capturing those colorful streaks of lights.

Honestly, I got lucky with these shots.  I got four wonderful shots of these fireworks out of around 50 shots. Hehehe

It’s a gloomy weather, hope it won’t affect our high spirits.

Wow! It’s another breaking record for me. Another century passed for a blog update.

Here I go again telling you that I was busy for the past months/weeks/days… sorry I lost track. I was busy juggling my work, my responsibility as a mom, a freelance photographer, professional blogger, plus my Photography study. Don’t worry, I still get some few hours of sleep. I get to sleep four hours after sending little Chesca off to school and another one to two hours in the bus going to Manila for my photography schooling. Oh! Did I ever mention that I could also close one eye, while working in front of my computer? I am such a talented person don’t you think? Hehehehe 

It’s a good thing, I get two days off from my office work just to give time for myself and to my professional blogging responsibilities. Unfortunately, my personal blog gets the little to no attention from me. I only get to update this during my luxury time for sleeping. If only I could also type while sleeping. (I am practicing that skill, too. I am almost there, except that in my thoughts what I wanted to write were so clear, but when I looked at my monitor they were typed like this “lksjasdfioiow…..,mlkkkkkkkker asdafwerwaqasdf)”Hehehe 

I have so many plans with this blog, I wanted to share many things in here from photography to my favorite pass time, but I guess it would have to wait. I just need to accomplish some other things before I could focus in here. I will try to keep the posting schedule as often as possible. Just hang in there and don’t drift away! 

I took a shot of this photo in Manila, Roxas Blvd. I was so envious with the man. So, I took a shot, I am happy I did. This photo reminds me to enjoy  and have a few minutes with myself in spite of a busy schedule. It gives me some space from whatever is pressuring me all day. Try to it, have a few minutes alone with yourself, it would help you to get hold of yourself when you are almost at the end of your wits.

I was able to let go of my first camera in spite of the sentimental value it holds for the sake of an upgrade. I think, this month, I would be able to get a new upgrade. From Nikon d40x, I want to have a more advanced toy either via its pixel, user category, or by features.

My dream camera is really a Canon 5D Mark II, however, it holds a very pricey tag, which I think is not yet time for me to spend so much, especially where I am still in the process and progress of learning, shaping, and sharpening my skills in photography.

Hence, my choices right now are the new Canon 550D or Nikon D90. Although, it is not right to compare them because they are not on the same user level, Canon 550D comes from an entry level category while the Nikon D90 comes from an advanced user category, still they are my choices and I can’t help but compare their features and what I could benefit from each of their features.

I am considering Canon 550D because of its 18 megapixel resolution and its more advance HD movie feature; where Nikon D90 falls short in these categories, although the latter also provide a full HD movie feature. I am considering Nikon d90 because of its advanced user category in spite of falling short in terms of resolution – having a resolution of 12 megapixel.

Two of my photographer friends advised me to go for the Nikon D90. I say they are not bias because one is a Nikon user and the other one is a Canon user. Yet, they both voted for the Nikon d90 because of the same reason I have. Getting the D90 would mean stepping from an entry level DSLR.

I was also able to find great articles in the internet where they compared 550D and Nikon D90 in detailed, which after 2 or 3 pages of comparison, still the new Canon 550D falls short in terms of good quality of image from Nikon D90. And since I am planning of capturing still life moments and objects and I am more concerned of the image quality, budget, and other things that I need in order to practice all the seminars I attended, at the end of the day, I am determined to buy a Nikon D90.

My weather forecast today is a sunny day, although its pouring outside.

I was trying to figure out for months now on how to create a page where it directs the reader to a different source like forums, photos, etc. Today, I got so lucky to find a good search string in Google, and I was able to find a plug-in in wordpress to do that for me.

If you want to create a new page in your blog that houses a different blog or a different source, like, for example blogA.com/blogB/ or if you have a separate e-commerce site and you want to put it in your existing personal blog like blogA/shop, in my case – my photos; just use the “Page links to” plug in from wordpress.org/extended/Plugins.

Although, I have another problem in my new photo page, I want to put a header on it. Unfortunately, I am still in the process of figuring out on how to tweak the template and install a new header to get a more enticing title and look. If you know a plug in to put a header, please help me and teach me by making a comment here. Your help will end my misery. lols
